Who I Am
Hello! My name is Max, and I am currently a Program/Product Manager at Amazon, where over the last 5 years I’ve driven meaningful business development in the Fresh Grocery merchandising space. I’ve supported the launch and renovation of 40+ Fresh sites by leading cross-functional teams to execute successful launch strategies and optimize efficient build processes. I joined Amazon Fresh driven by its unique data availability and opportunity to contribute to a quickly-growing operation, and I materialized these interests through my work with scalable, data-driven programs that improved both productivity on our team and customer success on site.
Data visualization, product management, and architectural design fill up my free time. Analytical and design software pique my interest and I love teaching myself as much as possible. Tableau, SQL, R, Python, Excel, Illustrator, AutoCAD, and SketchUp are a few that I enjoy exploring. Hover over the pie chart to see which programs I work on the most!
What Drives Me
I was once asked during an interview if I was “left-brained or right-brained.” After explaining how I perceived myself to be both, the interviewer told me I could only choose one. This question made me contemplate the restricting vocabulary we use to define ourselves. The limiting perspective of “single-sided” thought has cornered us into a tunnel-vision mindset that blinds our approach to problem-solving. I aim to use the whole mind — mixing disciplines of the analytical and artistic, quantitative and qualitative, detail-oriented and conceptual.
The graphic I created below displays a spectrum that “analytical” people fall short on. By uniting the two mindsets, the ability to narrate one’s discoveries is improved infinitely. This harmonic romance of systematic exploration and artistic storytelling is the forefront of my brand, projects, and career aspirations.
If you’d like to see how I apply this methodology to my work, check out my projects.
